I am considering buying this milltek exhaust system....

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4cffca783a

and was wondering how much I should expect a garage to charge me to change my standard one to this one?

Thanks for your help!

I had same fitted in 20 mins (at Dynodaze in Hinckey) at a cost of £20. They are friends of a friend so I must have got 'mates rates'!

if you do fit it yourself be aware the old box is a heavy lump so it can be handy to have two sets of hands.

That's not a full milltek system....that's a cat back only.
Which wouldn't be so bad to fit.....manifolds and down pipes are a complete different matter though.
Don't know about Mk5's but if they're anything like the mk4's as i suspect they are, then it's not an easy job.

2003 DPB 3 door - KW V3 suspension coilovers - ceramic coated EFR borgwarner 7670 turbo - ceramic coated HPA turbo manifold & downpipe - AEM boost controller - poly bushed Neuspeed antiroll bars - Neuspeed short-shifter with solid bushings - K&N typhoon induction - RS4 conrod bearings - HPA haldex controller - full stainless Miltek non-res exhaust (decat / 200 cell) - Franko's customer full FIS cluster -  auto headlights - illuminated door handles & wing mirrors - footwell leds - full bora illuminations - VEI gauges ( fuel pressure, oil temperature, air intake temperature) interior & exterior JCAP caps black anodised -

Thanks for that, what sort of sound and benefit will this system produce then?

It will sound nice but you really need a decat/sports cat to get the real performance benifit + a map etc..

Ah ok. I am really new to all this sort of stuff, I haven't changed anything mechanical to the car yet. Any suggestions on any improvements I could start thinking about?

The normal stuff is induction and exhaust and maybe a remap. You won't get much HP increase but it will be more fun to drive. Manifolds are a big/expensive thing to do on these cars..

Will there be any noticeable difference in sound with an induction kit though?

I will have my Mk5 tubular manifolds in production hopefully by the end of January which will make it a lot cheaper. Mk4 manifolds already in production.
