Hi all, i have made a pair of side skirt protectors for my car, since fitting them i have had quite a bit of interest, just wondering if anybody would be interested in buying some.
If there is much interest on here i will make a for sale thread, 'Im currently working on rears but they are a little trickier to look as OEM a id like.

The protectors of made of smooth black ABS so match the Arch liners and in my opinion fit in really well with the oem look. I've worked the price out at £25 for both front protectors. any opinions welcome

Textured would also be a good idea as stonechips could make these look as tired as they side skirts do quite quickly

Once I've bought the material and tools, time to cut each one I was just trying to make it even a bit worthwhile really. As for textured, the wheel arches from the factory are smooth abs, once the car has a few miles with these on they should wear to match the arch liners.

Added to the list, the rears I was going to try and space the protector off from the arch liner using the original screw mountings with maybe a slight flare out the arch how newer models have, I'll work in an idea in the next couple of days

The front edge of the skirt is always damaged by stone chips which eventually causes enough damage to wear down to the plastic of the skirt, this stops the paint being damaged

Can you supply new torx screws as part of the kit? Just an idea as they are only about 19p each from VW and ideal for people wanting the protectors but who don't have a dealer close by.

Would look a bit crap if you fitted the shiny new protectors with the original rusty battered bolts

Sounds good, Lets work through the figures.

My 3d printer is a bit crap so by the look of it each piece would take around an hour to print, that's 2 hours a pair. There are roughly 4,566 MK4 R32s left on the road so to make a set for each pair would take just over 3 and a half years (working 8 hours a day, 7 days a week). Lets say a rough £10,000 for ABS plastic reels, £2,000 for electric and heating & £70,000 minimum wage for someone to operate the printer. Add this to the £25k licensing fee & that's only £23.43 a pair at cost, great!

Yeah you're probably right. I've used some Ninjaflex filament before that was fairly hardwearing but it was extremely expensive.
