Calling to anyone who's had experience with DSGs and clutch packs… Had the DSG R32 for a few months now and the apparent clutch lag is really starting to grate on me now.
The best I can describe the problem I'm having is when I first pull away in a gear (isolating the problem to first and reverse usually) it takes the gearbox a couple of seconds to actually engage the gear. At the point it tries to engage the gear, the throttle isn't applied at all, the car thinks it's going to stall and pulls the clutch. The revs increase then the clutch dumps and I kangaroo off like a teen in his mums Corsa. This happens quite a lot in first, and I've learnt to gradually release the brake and feel when the clutch has engaged, and then gently apply the throttle. I can deal with this in traffic and I'm used to it. Other than this, it does NOT like going into first whilst driving manually and I just stick to second (it's also lumpy shifting down into second but OK) - I only found out this was not normal recently after driving a friends Scirocco.
The problem is very apparent when parking (switching from first to reverse and vice versa) at which time the clutch seems to dip in and out, the throttle just isn't in the right position….. basically I just don't think the car knows where it's clutch plates are. The mechatronics were replaced under warranty in 2010, at which time VW didn't redo the adaptations at all (nice one) and approx. 15k miles later I had the throttle body alignment/full DSG adaptations done shortly after picking up the car. Mechatronics have been tested and they're fine, DMF seemingly isn't worn out (I do get a DMF slap when the clutch is randomly dipped when attempting a reverse up my drive, but I think that's normal-ish behaviour as they're noisy on these cars anyway).
1. Is there a clutch plate pressure sensor or similar that can be replaced?
2. Is my clutch pack duffer?
3. Does this sound like something I need to sort immediately?
4. Is this the beginning of DSG woes that other forum members (Redemption) have suffered with
