Im sure UM USA will gladly pull your pants down for a flashed ECU. I'd suggest avoiding the UK dealer like the plague.

As for "stroker" in theory it already is, all your forged internals do (generally) is drop your compression which if anything shortens the stroke.

As Mike's said you go over about 3.3 and piston 3's going to be paying you an untimely visit...

Not doubting a stroker crank won't work in terms of clearance, but they are available in 100mm form :-

http://www.ame-racin...liste-R32.shtml

3000 euros though!

On the topic of forged/cast cranks, my 09 BUB engine has an identical crank to that in my BHE engine on the stand. The BHE is of the same generation as the mk4 BFH engine. The webbing and forge/stamp marks are identical between both.

What information do you have that suggests the BUB crank is cast?

I'm very familiar with the differences between forge stamped and cast cranks in the EA827 series engines (ABF,KR,2E,9A etc)

Nothing I've seen suggests the BUB is cast other than forum information...so I had to see it for myself.

The 96.5mm BWS r36 crank is cast, and appears different in construction to the BUB/BFH/BHE engines. Notable differences are similar to those in the EA827 series (e.g 2E vs AGG). Could this be where the confusion lies, or have I got some factory magic BUB engine.?

Cheers

How so? You had a bad experience ? the phirm were brilliant to deal with, the UM tune is spot on IMO.

The forged pistons have equal compression height to the high comp piston range (e.g JE). The volume (dish) is increased to reduce overall compression ratio. The "stroke" remains unchanged?
