Very nice. Few little bits is all it needs under there with big lump filling the most part.

I use carpro perl on the plastics under the bonnet - decent stuff!

You managed to get some more side skirt protectors made up yet? ;-)

cheers man,

No I haven't made anymore yet. They are super easy to make.

- Just get some clear helitape(or invisy wrap).

- remove the skirt end bolt

- Stick the helitape on the end of the skirt, cut round it with a nice sharp stanley making sure you don't scratch anything and pierce a hole where the bolt goes

- carefully peel off the helitape

- Stick it on to the chosen material(Carbon, plastic or whatever)

- I added a little on the bottom for a little more protection

- Cut it out, drill it and sand/de bur it

- I just then flipped it and drew round it to do the other side(as you'd like to think they are symmetrical)

- Then bolt them on. I did put a little bit of skirt tape on the back just to stop them rotating

Took all of about half an hour. depending on what material you use depends on what it will cost.

Fitted a new mirror switch(Golf R with silver tip). Then dropped the car off to get the rear tailgate sprayed due to the common rust issue around the badge/latch.

Annoyingly VW have discountinued the 'R32 badge' so had to order a carbon one. Gonna try save the original one though.

Just got the car back from the bodyshop, no more rust:) Also got the wings/bumper and bonnet done too to get rid of the stone chips :)

Will post some photos later as I feel I need to go for a drive and show it off!

I brought them off my mate who was putting his car back to stock before selling it(too good deal to turn down). I had a chat with him and he got them done at Carbonize, but he also said that he has used C6 Carbon in the past too for some bits.

Is it just a straight swap into a R keyfob?

Also the part with the R and the V6 on, whats that bit called? its the one thing joining the R32 club i'm yet to learn is the part specific lingo. its not like other cars.

By the way the parts look great. so does the car.

Finally got 10 min free to fit the new carbon engine plaque.

Attached File  IMG_8913.jpg   63.58KB   12 downloads

Next thing on the list is either upgraded engine mounts(to finish the engine bay off) or brake upgrade. Been chatting to the guys at Forge and they can do me a custom painted set of callipers to match the original caliber colour.

Also still waiting on my Carbon R32 badge from carbon goodies. However think i may have been stiffed on this as its been 8 weeks and still no sign or response sad.png

Nice.

I have looked at various mounts and bushes. I see an anti lift kit and different ARB’s supposedly make a decent difference.

Is the ‘dog-bone’ mount one of the engine mounts?

I got polybushed ARB already and yet to do the anti lift kit, there on the never ending list. Ive been doing bushes as and when they need doing or if i have a part off. Using the Superpro ones and can't fault them.

yeah its the lower mount. Was looking at the following kit.

Alternatively I thought about buying some second hand mounts, spraying them up and fitting some new poly bushes. Much cheaper and just as affective. Just don't look as nice  :D

Ended up getting a new Carbon Tailgate badge from else where(Argon Creative).

Note to anyone ordering from Carbon Goodies, wouldn't waste your time. Wont get a response and currently going through with the CC company to get my money back.

Plus side really recommend Argon Creative. Super good at responding and the quality is spot on! ordered it on Thursday and had it on Saturday smile.gif

So a while ago i purchased a Gruven parts Dipstick handle. The part really looked good, but sadly it didn't fit as well as it looked and it ended up rattling off and I lost it out the under tray sad.png sad times, may as well of thrown £40 out the window. Didn't even get a photo of it on haha

But anyway got me thinking so I drew up up my own design and have begun to make it. Heres a sneak peak of it.
