Got up early this morning and gave the car a darn good clean, wax and polish.

Also fitted the new dipstick into the car and think it looks aright. Also changed a few bolts in the bay with some new ones smile.gif

Out with the old and in with the new!

Took the wheels of on the weekend to give the arches a good clean and decided it was time to replace the dust covers and noticed the bump stop support rings where corroded too hell!

Got a new fuse box cover made up! Nice tight fit and it attached with 3M tape and doesn't get affected by the heat in the bay. I didn't want to drill into the box lid to attach it incase it where to cause a leak.

So this mornings job was fitting the engine and transmission mounts.

Followed this guide

https://www.r32oc.co...-guide-mkv-r32/

Really recommend it and was super easy to do, took me a little under 2 hours.

Attached File  IMG_9634.jpg   72.96KB   21 downloads

Only fitted a power flex insert in the dogbone mount to help reduce cabin vibrations.

Didn't realise how worn my old mounts where until i removed them.

How you getting on with the engine and transmission mounts? Are there my drawbacks to have them fitted?

Really good, think if i had replaced the whole dogbone mount it may have been a little too aggressive(only did the insert on that). Because my transmission mount was so bad its made a hell of a difference to the gear change and response. No issues with vibration or anything like that.

No draw backs at all definitely recommend them, if you going to get some and are using it on the road make sure you get the road setup not the track ones.

Also ordered my custom coloured brakes smile.gif 10 week wait though sad.png

Saw a couple of 32s there too, one round the track sounding good and another just floating around.

Not to sure what you mean by this bit 'where.didmyounget the slam panel?' think its the site tripping out again. Slam panel is original though.

I couldn't reply/quote to your comment either.

Sorry it's having to type on my phone using Tapatalk, as the forum is glitchy on my computer. I meant slam panel. I need to go have another look in my engine bay, as looking at your engine, it looked like there was extra trim in the engine bay.

Get a pic/thread posted up man. Then I’m sure someone in here can help you work out what’s missing/needed or what’s not original

Didnt get chance to fit the brakes this week, got some free time next week so hopefully get them done.

Also had this turn up today, getting ready to build a little boot build(A practical one where i can still use the boot, not going wild). Just waiting for the amp to turn up before i can begin the build.

Ive got a few ideas and something like this is what i was thinking if i can't do what id like. Did the spacer saver work ok with the Forge brakes?

I have also been thinking about losing the spare and the jack(as it doesn't work with the car at its current height)
