Recently bought myself an R32
The car came with the phase 1 wheels but I changed to a set of Omanyt's.
Lots of little plans to tidy the car up but otherwise very pleased so far

I really wanted the recaros but I'm not the biggest fan of leather so I love mine.
Already been busy buying bits and pieces.
Upgrades planned:
Heko wind deflectors,
Pioneer android stereo,
Aluminium style internal switches,
Euro cup holder,
Dash tray,
Black Headlining,
Parking sensors,
R36 rest plate,
Reversing camera,
Armrest,
R32 seat inserts
I fit some to my recaros awhile ago and they fit fine
I think it depends on how much you care. They handles are different but I don't think it's noticeable, I'll try find a picture later.
Wingbacks are really nice. I`ve actually ignored some for having cloth ones as I like leather and always assumed leather would be more desirable when it`s time to sell. If what CUPRABOB says is right, I might go back to some and have another look
Car looks lovely by the way!
Steve.
Well now that cluster makes things look a lot newer! Take it there is a need to fit and just code the new one with mileage and everything else should work out of the box?
Phil.

Looking good!
How much of a pain was the headliner to swap? My cars cloth and I've always wanted to change the headliner to black. I've been searching for a while for a complete kit for a 5dr with sunroof!
I had someone fit the clocks as its not a simple swap.
The guy fitted a new harness, extra wiring to the fuel tank, later spec canbus, then all the coding.
I bought the clocks myself on eBay for around £170
The MFSW would be nice but its not much of an upgrade.
I'd really love a mk6 R wheel but I can't justify the cost of one.
If I'm honest the headling was a c##t to fit!
Took me around 4hours in total using a few crappy guides on the net.
Worst part was remolding the 14 metal brakets that hold the liner up....took me about an hour!
The other option is to buy new ones but apparently they're £2 each.
If you're struggling to find a liner for sale then contact someone breaking a gti. Thats what I did as I couldn't find one close enough.
And FYI you CAN get it in the car and still drive....just! Take string with you then tie it to the roof grab handles.
Driver arches and sill stripped, cleaned and treated.
Found an annoying water leak in the boot.
Realised it was the rear body vent.
Siliconed and wax oiled the shit out of it......no more leak!
Also cleared and treated any rust I could find.
Put some R centre caps on a while ago to replace the white worm VW ones.
And a photo of the RCD 330.
Not the best sounding HU but it looks and works great, well worth the £160 I paid
I also bought a leather repair kit for the steering wheel, gear knob/sleeve and handbrake.
Hard to see from the photos but they all look way better than they.
Steering wheel now has a nice soft feel to it rather than a slippy shiny one.
Looks good.
Would suggest binning off the foam behind the front wings.
They hold water and cause rust.
May the boost be with you
.:Rotrex powered sleeper...well sort of....
You can only plan so far.....After that, well you have to take a few leaps of faith.......
Finally got around to installing a usb and aux cable at the rear of the RCD330.
Was a bit of trial and error but finally got there..
Also decided to wire in a DAB adaptor as the FM reception is a bit poor.
Wired this into the cigarette lighter using the ignition cable.
Digital radio now plays through the AUX under the Media section.
I wasn't sure how good the sound quality would be but WOW it now sounds awesome!
Plus it gives me 63 channels.
took me a while so had to hire in some help......
had a bit of a clean today
Finally got around to fixing a gap the size of the grand canyon between my wiper panel and windscreen!
Had to remove the wiper arms and panel then clean out the crap in the groove.
Now sits nice and flush.
Also gave the engine bay a clean, nothing major but definitely better than it was.
Love the updates. What did you do for the DAB aerial? Was it a windscreen jobby or a convert of your fm aerial? If so, what one did you go for and what is the reception like on DAB? TIA
Yeah nice job on the DAB integration. Was considering a Pure but the messy look put me off but your way of doing it has me interested again!
