Stock R32 front is pretty boring to be honest. So I wanted to add a little touch to it. Sure enough nothing too crazy that would ruin OEM looking style. I do have something more crazy already in my storage for the front but I am only going to install it if the car is "maybe" getting bagged in the future ( I over complicate things connected to quality and hate going in cheap, but getting all out on air ride is killing the whole "setup on bags" idea in my head!)

Let's return to the car as it is now

Front bumper lip

So I know a guy from local community who makes custom spoilers, lips etc., and is also the import guy for most tuning, performance and style companies for our country. I've actually visited him at home so he showed me around his shop and his work and it is stunning! From widebody BMW projects, rocket bunnies, drift projects and many more. A man of many talents for sure.

So he had some kind of "new year" special action on this super nice front lip which is made by him. I've got it for 56,32€ (in raw - so not painted yet). My friend painted it together with front grill (the same color - Hyper Silver (Isuzu) - 300892).

You can buy the lip directly from here

I do not have any installation photos but this is the lip in it's raw format.

s-l1600.jpg

The lip fits under the front bumper perfectly! This is the look from underneath. Bolts up easy peasy smile.gif

IMG-20200428-171638.jpg

And the finished look, Looks so much better now.

It is! I like both styles, OEM and stance. I know OEM is the only style that is "timeless" but there is so many options to go with and it is hard to decide what to do and how far to take it (must consider a long ownership and I am affraid that nowadays stance scene will look the same crap as the 2000's rice one looks now to us). That's why keeping OEM parts from the car is my main priority when modding anything.

Let's move to the side of the car and it's add-on's now.

Because I've added front splitter I also wanted to add side skirt extensions. First I was looking at TRC ones, but the shipping cost from UK to Slovenia was 70 pounds crazy.gif So I've bought Maxton ones then (I believe they are completely the same).

Side skirt extensions

Producer: Maxton Design

Color: gloss black

Price: 154,00 €

Link: click here

Alternative for UK lads (TRC): click here

As I was uboxing them I've had split thoughts. I didn't really like them to be honest. After I've put them on the car I was so damn happy I decided to put them on! They really make the difference and make a car a lot wider from the side!

Another thing that is added to the side of the car and is pretty practical are wind deflectors. This were added by previous owner and I have decided to keep them.

Wind deflectors

Producer: Team Heko

Price: aprox. 40€

Link: click here

When I drive the car I almost always have side windows opened just a little bit and wind deflectors are making great job, also they fit perfectly.

Blacked turn signals on mirrors

Another nice little detail are blacked turn signals on the mirrors. They look great together with black paint smile.gif

I believe these are the ones - ebay

Let's move to the back of the car, the best part, the boooty tease.gif

First thing I've done and is one of the best looking mods on mk5's in my opinion are Valeo rear led lights.

The car had OEM R32 tail lights which were tinted and I honestly didn't like them, compared to Valeo's pardon.gif

Tail lights upgrade - Valeo LED

Producer: Valeo

Model: candy red

OEM number: 1K0052204

Price: aprox. 254 €

Link: check local auto parts stores but kunzmann has them for awesome price also

The ex owner got them for me for awesome price. As I am aware they are again out of stock or in limited numbers so the prices went up badly!

The changing job was super easy, also cleaned the surface's behind the lights at the same time.

Didn't post for some time as I have been busy in my job and with my side business so it's time to move on with build threadrofl.gif

Next rear end upgrade that was made by previous owner already and is completely wicked is rear diffuser. I love OEM style but I am also so in love with how the car looks now so I preffer this style over OEM crazy.gif

Rear Diffuser

Producer: IngoNoak Tuning

Model: DTM Style

Price: aprox. 250 € shipped

Link: avaiable here

There were some slight issues fitting the diffuser as it is not perfect fit but now it's standing firm and perfect.

The rear diffusser gets real hot next to exhaust tips so it is protected with some aluminuim anti-heat tape. The old one was in bad shape and there was a lot of sand present. I've cleaned it up and make it look all new again with taping new aluminium anti-heat tape on it.

Before

IMG-20200316-153435.jpg

After

IMG-20200317-151327.jpg

IMG-20200316-172552.jpg

Rear bumper fix and repaint

Another thing that bothered me A LOT was rear bumper which had a ton of holes drilled right where the register plate is. This was messed

IMG-20200216-134526.jpg

All holles were filled and the area around register plate was repainted.

received-749149915613717.jpg

And removed the sticker from rear bumper because I hate stickers on the car. The whole area needed to be polished because the sticker cut so deep in the lacquer angry.png

IMG-20200314-151602.jpg

Also I've put magnets to the back of the bumper so I can remove my plates anytime

IMG-20200316-172552.jpg

Final look (spoiler yet to be covered). Busty a$$ wub.png

To finish that perfect booty look, bigger roof spoiler was needed. I felt in love with this one a long time ago, before I even owned a mk5.

Rear Spoiler

Producer: BodyCustoms RU

Price: aprox. 250 € shipped

Link: avaiable here

Bought it off ebay straight from Russia. The spoiler is direct fit to the OEM R32 tiny spoiler. It fits so well, and the seller responded instantly to all my questions. It is a bit pricey and the shipping rate of 70€ is insane but a dream is a dream. It is insane how this spoiler lowers the back end of the car visually! This is a cherry on top give_rose.gif

Came well protected

IMG-20200128-142737.jpg

IMG-20200128-143156.jpg

And it comes RAW. Has to be prepared for painting and painted. Test fit to make sure it sits well

IMG-20200128-143650.jpg

Sanded and put in primer together with other parts

received-857698427984921.jpg

Painted

received-814377222392138.jpg

Sorry because I do not have any installation photos, basically I've used black glue for windows, put some on the edges and fitted the spoiler. It can be removed using force without damaging the paint.

Finished look wacko.gif

IMG-20200318-153821-1.jpg

IMG-20200318-153825.jpg

That's finished exterior yahoo.gif

We will move under the bonnet soon drinks.gif

Almost forgot two things!

Rear wiper delete

Rear wiper was deleted with glass plug from killallwipers (available here)

IMG-20200522-125114.jpg

Tinted windows

Rear windows and trunk window are tinted to 95%.

That looks awesome must be the best one I have seen

Thanks for the kind words Andy. Appreciate it smile.png

It was a good day yesterday. Registered the car after sitting 6 months in the garage. First time drive with all new mods. The ride is insane. Brakes are INSANE. I've tried to do an emergency brake check and literally tyres squealed. Huge improvement.

I've take couple of shots for memories and here they are.

Have the homologation inspection on wednesday and then the car is going to be fully road legal with all the upgrades.

Passed homologation inpection yesterday, now I just have to wait for the paperwork to come in by post biggrin.gif

Also met with EX owner, he now owns MK6 R with stage2+ pushing around 380hp. Not bad but he just miss R32 so badly, he said selling it was his biggest mistake and I've said him that too right before I've bought it. This car is my dream and it won't leave me air_kiss.gif

Another thing I've done was exhaust tips polishing. If you wonder why I have a nickname illegal, I just made it up for my instagram and I am using it ever since. I came up with illegal because I actually have full custom 3" exhaust with custom downpipes which has an output of 131-133 dB's rofl.gif . I will talk about exhaust later on in this thread.

Exhaust tips polishing

I used Milltek metal polish paste together with raw and fine cone (idk if this is the right term) polish pads, battery machine and some clean microfibre towels. This was back in the January but decided to still post it up since the car was napping since then shok.gif

So I did a thing rofl.gif Picked up my new future daily yesterday. A VW Passat with 3.2L VR6 FSI engine and bought it straight from my very good friend which you may know from painting my R32 parts. The car is just freshly painted, literally picked it straight out from workshop biggrin.gif Has some mods done already but I'm going to finish it in proper style so another build thread of mine is going to be created soon :)

Long time no see fool.gif

Time to move on with updating this thread. I just took life easy in the last month and truly enjoyed it with my car friends and my R32 give_rose.gif

We should move under the bonnet now.

Noise pipe delete custom kit

First thing that I intended to replace was the OEM intake, which has (at least lhd model) the noise pipe which has to be blocked somehow or removed completely. I had an idea to just blend it with some kind of custom cap, which was later on 3D printed and the whole thing looks like this now.

Had to remove the pipe first

IMG-20200224-184834.jpg

Removed, easy 5min job

IMG-20200224-190452.jpg

Love the details!

Let's contuine

SPARK PLUGS CHANGE

Producer: NGK

Model: IZKR7B

Price: 72€ for 6

These are recommended by VW and I'd also recommend them for all VR6 engines. I am going to change them every 2 seasons or so as I plan to retire the car almost completely for few years in 2 months.

As soon as I've started the process I've noticed that I bought the wrong puller tool fool.gif Not a big deal, I've just used thick and hard gauge wire and it worked like a charm! Pulled out and replaced one by one.

IMG-20200319-122702.jpg

One of the old ones

IMG-20200319-133403.jpg

Comparison. These were changed 2 years ago on 130k km. I noticed in log that misfire was detected on 170k km, right before I've bought the car, but I planned to replaced them anyway.

IMG-20200319-115601.jpg

IMG-20200319-115700.jpg

Mid process. Special rachet socket will be required to get these out, I bought the UNIOR one for 8€. Remember to replace one by one and avoid getting any kind of trash from the air or other objects in the engine head. I didn't use torque tool but I should. I tightened them just enough and no too much I hope mega_shok.gif

So where did we finish friends.gif

I didn't like the OEM red spark plug caps and blue is my favourite color so this needed to be done. These were exclusively made for R36 Passat models.

R36 SPARK PLUG CAPS

Producer: Volkswagen Classic Parts

Model: 3x 03H 971 921 // 3x 03H 971 921 A // 1x N 107 325 02 (blue pipe)

Price: 33,45€ total including shipping, bought via Kaliber32 shop

You can probably order this in any local VW dealership, sadly employes in my closest don't have a clue how to order a classic part item, so I had to order it from Kaliber32 shop. Kaliber32 is some kind of european community for all R32 owners, super nice guys, working hard to push VW so the production line for most R32 parts comes to life again. MK4 R32 is already a classic, MK5 R32 is slowly stepping into it.

So check out VW Classic parts shop as well as Kaliber32 shop and also you are more than welcome to join FB group! biggrin.gif

All parts for this upgrade can be found here:

OEM red ones before disassembly

Which ones you like better? spiteful.gif

IMG-20200319-111826.jpg

All done. Just wait for the final engine bay look, trust me it is sick good.gif

This upgrade wasn't really needed but I like how Forge induction air intake looks, especially in blue color.

AIR INTAKE

Producer: Forge Motorsport

Price: 280€

First, MAF sensor wires had to be extended, so nothing is too tight.

IMG-20200319-180155.jpg

All of it

IMG-20200320-100342.jpg

Test fit

IMG-20200320-102813.jpg

And test fitted in the engine bay

IMG-20200320-110838.jpg

I didn't notice any differences on my R32 to be honest, compared to stock intake. It is sucking more air for sure, because I have the same intake on my passat 3.2 and it is literally spoiling air like blow off wink.gif Anyways it looks fabulous
