Hi All,

So I have recently bought a Blue MK5 Golf R32, and I am excited to see the progression, and thought it would be a good idea to show my progression, to hopefully inspire others into different things that can potentially be done.

My Instagram is: that_mk5r32

First week big work got done:

Clean the car and get rid of the rust from inside the boot.

Replaced the batter.

Found a lot of glass inside the door (worrying why), so we decided to open the door up and hoover all the glass out, and wow there was a lot of glass.

Aim, make this R32 into my R32.

The small things make the difference, Golf R32 carpet mats bought from eBay.

This was a few things in one:

We wrapped the silver panels inside of the R32 to carbon fiber, I believe it gives it more of a sporty look.

Also bought leather blue stitching for the gearbox and handbrake

Paddle shiftier extensions in Carbon fiber of course wink.gif

Finally an OEM bottle opener/cup separator from eBay

Decided I didn't like the old school mk5 key, so i updated them to the MK7 key style. Surprisingly easy to do, and looks a lot fresher.

Also got an R32 keyring biggrin.gif

Awesome! May I suggest you upload pictures as pictures and not as attachements? That's how all visitors of this forum are going to be able to see your R32 without logging in :D

The easiest way I found is:

- create an account on imgbb

- upload pictures to your account  in full size and select Never delete or something like that

- go to your profile --> gallery

- find a picture you'd like to share on forum

- copy BBCode for full size image (not linked!, just full sized)

- paste the code in the editor and that's it :)

Love the key upgrade. Where did you order from and did you just use the metal key part from your old one or have to have it cut again?

I will send a link to where i bought it:

Key: https://www.ebay.co....872.m2749.l2649

Sticker: https://www.ebay.co....872.m2749.l2649

R Logo: https://www.ebay.co....872.m2749.l2649

All fits perfectly, just need to change the motherboard from your mk5 one now to this one, all fits in perfect. Only problem i had was that my metal part (like you mentioned), i grounded it down to fit perfectly (didnt take much off) but they provide you with a blank one that you can take to a key cutter to get a new one cut.

looks really good!

what was the first pic of the tyre wheel in the boot for? and the door taken apart? was that for the carbon wrap?

looks like the calipers have being painted at somepoint. and while we're on the wheels get some decent rubber on it instead of them ditch finders. recommend PS4's. £90 a corner

Thanks!

So when i got the car there was some rust in the boot, the picture didnt really capture it well, didnt think i would make something like this ahah, but it was just a clean up, sanded it down a bit and resprayed it. Door frame was off because there was glass inside of the door when I bought the car, so we took the speaker off and hoovered the inside of the door (it took ages).  Carbon wrap was a lot easier than taking the door off thank god ahaha.

Car is currently not with me but when its back I have some speed yellow caliper spray paint that I am going to spray on instead of that worn out blue.

And yes 100% agree with you! The tyres on them now are SHIT but all in due time and 100% right im going for the ps4 thanks for the link. They are the best ones that i have seen from research, only wish i could get the ps4s but need 19 inch rims :/

Thanks for your input and help! Much appreciated, hopefully ill have an update soon

I'm assuming this key doesn't come with the VW stickers? I've ordered mine. I like the R end to the key but not sure I want to pay another 20 quid for it. What's the quality of the key like? What's the chrome effect like? I'm looking forward to getting mine!

Yep you defo need to order the stickers, and the R at the end of the key is actually more than the key, but i had to get it just for the look, think its defo worth it. The quality is really good would defo recommend! Let me know how you get on when the key comes :D
