Afternoon, got offered a clean *for the price* R32 a few weeks ago. Jumped at the opportunity. The deal was done so I went to pick her up, turned up to a rusty O/S/F wing and 4x snapped springs. It’s been garaged for 2 years, but of damage on the front bumper and bonnet and needs a wheel refurb and 4x new tyres. Nice spec, probably standard R32. Rear parking sensors, cruise control and leather. A few bonuses were some new EBC dimpled and grooves rear discs, red stuff pads and a nice apple play pioneer head unit. Anyway, here’s a picture on my truck when I picked it up and some of the damage. 84b708f38222dc51e3a73edc4817c790.jpg89273ac72820aec908065835809c7727.jpgf09a1e058713abd2c7899ff9e7288faa.jpg653bf3e99e104a64a82a7f8c37f7a451.jpg Here is one with my soon to be 2.0 TFSI converted ex British Gas Caddy. 12da0792ccf2ae214ed63a42e175b556.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve just broken a front end smashed Q7 I bought off a mate so I have a set of these that’d bolt up nicely. 2x sets one for the caddy and the other set possibly for the R32, maybe the rears to. c7b6f280c0a74bed8cfd0071e11ba16f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Confirmed yesterday the initial list of parts required to get her back on the road which is: Front pads Rear discs and pads All 4 springs Front top mounts A couple of CV gaitors 4x tyres. 8b0d40f4677c18be790f781a09b0aa33.jpg One of the broken front springs. I put a new battery in yesterday and I’ve taken the wheels off to get the tyres replaced and get them refurbished. I left the golf on my 20” speedlines, makes me want another set of 19’s for the R32. 79574700058059e3d481a66100ab6da7.jpg1ffee50f0fc20bd75dec6ac6d84d8b7f.jpg2b2b5780cd1a9fd84e5c9f8e17c5cda9.jpg Suppose I’ll start spending some money then! These above are 19’s off an A5, I had a set of 20’s on before (rears on R32 above) but bent 2 of them. 18z’s refers to the brembo 18z callipers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bought this as a ‘donor’. I’m going to (here’s hoping the colour is the same!) swap some panels around to save some $$ on paint. I’ll then put a test on it sell the car. Might swap the dash as the R32 has a rubbish phone holder thing, might not that’s a big job. 5b4ea8e198a4ecb2bef7224a649bdde4.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pretty scared to post this....
any criticism *through the forum* on this page would be appreciated.

The points I already know I need to improve on.
- lighting
- camera
- I should have done a walk around them settled into something specific ie suspension, then removal then refitment etc or, brakes, removal, Caliper rebuild, disc and pad fitment etc.

The next one will be more structured. Anyway, here goes my dignity....

Only just caught this post.  I've subscribed, well done for putting yourself out there.

Personally I like how you explain how to do some jobs as I often use videos like this as a guide if completing a similar task myself.  There is not much out there like that for an R32 (or I've not found it at least)

I look forward to future installments smile.png

Muska- thanks for the feedback. Today I am going to do another video. It’ll either be brake or suspension removal, maybe both for a slightly longer video.

Like I said above, I needed to upgrade the lighting and my camera. I’ve done that, bought a G7X mkii and a GoPro hero 8 black but also some new LED strip lights.

Should be better viewing from now on.

IF you end up scrapping that calliper, please give me a shout I could do with a n/s one to refurb.
