Picked my mk5 r32 up a while back and from day one the drivers door speakers only work with the volume turned up and even then are quite crackly Is there any obvious places to look before sending it to an auto electrician? Sent from my SM-G986B using Tapatalk

Sorry to state the obvious, But it's either ;

The head unit

The speakers ( which I don't think it is, if they all don't work)

The wiring between the two. Usually where it passes through the door.

Good luck.

Haha don't worry about it. Is wiring in-between body and door splitting common on the mk5 ? Can't seem to find much info on it online

I'll pull the stereo out have alook there and try the wiring in the door shut go from there

Cheers

If it wasn't working when you got it, there is every chance a previous owner has been "at it"

Now that is a mess!

Just re-do each wire slowly one at a time.
