Clicking noise?

Hey guys. I have noticed a clicking noise when driving through tight roads (bouncing off walls)
Its constant with speed and seems to back off with braking. Im presuming it is the brakes as they seem low on the discs but odd its making a noise? Dont want them to fail!

Any ideas on cost for all round new discs and possible pads (mk5 R)

Is it definitely this?

Cheers :top:

Got a quote off Wrexham VW a couple of days ago for discs and pads all round. Came to about ÂŁ550 fitted.

Anyone know if you can change the pads but keep using existing discs please?
Thats what i thought, not what i need at the moment with funds being tight :(

If it's only when cornering and goes when braking it could easily be the CV joint or possibly a wheel bearing

it could be a stone in one of the rotors causing the noise but id expect that to continue even when braking. without hearing and looking at it were all just guessing. if VW aint gonna charge you then theres no harm in asking them lol.

you can change pads without discs and discs without pads. the discs are expected to last longer so the pads will normally be changed a few times before the discs need doing (unless the discs warp of course).

Hey I just had this problem with my front left wheel so i took the wheel off, the pad was fine and so i hit it with a hammer a bit and that fixed the problem haha. The pad was grinding on a little bit of the inner ring of the rotor.

It seems to have subsided after the drive home and a few bumps lol

With london not having many closed in roads its hard to hear though. Dont think its doing it anyway! Ill jack it up tomorow and check as i finally have a day off!
