Yeah gonna have a few oil flushes getting schrick cams as there ÂŁ100 more each then gens, 24 roller rockers, 24 lifters, timing chains, sprockets, tensioners, guides, rocker cover gasket, timing cover gaskets, various other seals. All gonna spot on until the next bit that needs doing.

The chains on these don't really stretch from my findings, it's the sprockets and tensioners which wear down.

If you're putting cams in, then it would be rude not to do the chains whist you're there, but look into replacing the VVT sprockets whilst you're there, and getrainly get the VVT housing off and check the mesh filter which feeds the oil to them.

Main parts to be changed are..
- V021 109 467 TENSIONER 1.00 ÂŁ27.90 EACH
- V021 109 469 GUIDE PIECE 1.00 ÂŁ4.09 EACH
- V021 109 569 SPROCKET 1.00 ÂŁ36.57 EACH
- V03H 109 465 CHAIN 1.00 ÂŁ43.82 EACH
- V03H 109 503 CHAIN 1.00 ÂŁ43.82 EACH
- V03H 109 507 TENSIONER 1.00 ÂŁ27.90 EACH
- V066 109 509 A TENSIONER 1.00 ÂŁ13.62 EACH
- V066 109 570 SPROCKET 1.00 ÂŁ12.03 EACH
- VAWI 188 001 02 011824/SEAL PASTE 1.00 ÂŁ42.47 EACH
- VN 104 883 02 011822/BOLT IIEX.HD.W 2.00 ÂŁ1.41 EACH
- VN 900 411 02 011824/0-RING 1.00 ÂŁ0.78 EACH
- VN 906 650 01 FLYWHEEL BOLT 10.00 ÂŁ2.15 EACH

Although those prices are old now.

Might want to look at DMF too.

The head has been sent off for a skim it’s been off before but was 2mm out in some places. Just goes to show low mileage examples doing short journeys don’t help them.

Tough luck there bud. I've always thought low mileage cars , or at least ones that are low and don't get driven hard are ones to worry about
.it will be nice one it's all fixed and back together. It'll probably feel a lot more powerful no doubt if it's been like that since you've had it

Thanks bud only done 1500 miles or so since Jan when I bought it, it wasn’t as quick as the last one just couldn’t put my finger on it, thought it was me nice to know that I’m not completely????.

Right it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. 3000 miles put on it and all was going well, noticed it started to sound tappy like a 1.1 fiesta. Nothing on vag com readings all good as before. Took it in for some other work like rocker cover started to weep so they started it nothing ran silent????????. The garage drove it in and out for a week then went to change the rocker cover gasket and found this.

They found all the bearings and everything else in the sump and it had slipped a tooth and taken a very small bit off the edge of the cam.The only thing me and the mechanic can think of it had a failed valve spring causing valve float and breaking 2 of the new rockers. So ordered a new set of uprated valve springs. Now awaiting a few bits from Germany then she can go back together can’t wait. Along with the miltek manifolds sport cats and non res.
