How can seats be worth so much? I know they're good, but £2,000 a pair??

 

Since i could probably get 4 leather recaros for the price of 2 cloths, I've decided that i want leather recaros. Could the wiring for heated seats be done? as i currently have standard r cloth seats. Anyone interested in selling their seats?

Something like that. Wish they were standard on every mk5! They're so uncommon because people just opted for the standard leathers.

 

they were a £950 option in cloth, and £1500 in leather (because you needed to buy the winter pack, which has leather seats anyway, which was £1000). So cloths were £950 and leathers £2500 in total. Now the cloths are worth more!!

 

Thought so I had leather recaro's in my mk5 GTI

 

They boost the interior so much! I'm beginning to have nightmares over these things! I was half tempted to buy a pair of Recaro CS's, but didn't as i like this style alot more. How were they for longer journeys? Still comfortable?

 

They are very comfortable IMO, I used to have them an thought the were brilliant on long journeys!

Only thing I found was the leather kinda clips on with a rubber strip on the hard back and mine kept I clipping itself but not sure if that had something to do with 17.5 stone jumpin in and out of it haha

They tilt forward, but only a small amount and you have to manually slide the whole seat forward as it doesn't do both with the tilt for some reason?!

Also they have convex hard backs which reduce rear leg room further. Not ideal in a 3dr when using the rear seats a lot is required!

Not quite true. Cloth Recaros were a £950 option. Std Leather was a £1,600 option and Leather Recaros were £2,350.

With leather Winter pack is nothing to do with it other than it gives washer fluid low warning as heated seats were standard with all leather trim. Heated seats were only part of the Winter Pack for cloth. There were different prices for each Winter Pack with and without leather, the latter being cheaper.
