Mk5 Fuses

Hi everyone, I bought a Mk5 3dr reflex silver R32 back in July and have been lurking around the forum since then and just today after reading another post thought I'd have a look the interior fuses again, as when I bought it I discovered that the fuse for the heated seats had been pulled and never replaced.

Going from the limited info in drivers manual I did myself a little table and ticked off all the fuses that are currently in place, however there are quite a few unused which makes sense for things such as no fuses for rear windows and sunroof as I have neither.

The one that specifically interested me was the absence of fuse 31, as I've read that for the mk4 pulling this fuse disables the haldex, but there doesn't seem to be anything specifically clear as to whether it's the same for the mk5 R32.

The other absent fuses on the drivers side interior were as follows: 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 31, 32, 33, 39, 40, 43, 44, 45, 47, 48

I've run a basic quick OBD scan and found no stored errors but just wondering about the absence of certain fuses, especially no.31

For a start it's normal to have fuses missing as the ones that are absent will be used for items not fitted to the car that are options or for function used in different markets.

With regards to Fuse 31 (Haldex Clutch) that is only applicable to the MK4. Tbe MK5 doesn't have a specific fuse for the Haldex.

Great, thanks for that. Knew about the potential for missing fuses being for options, etc just with the heated seat fuse having been removed and not replaced had me wondering plus I'd found a couple of mini blade fuses in the drivers door pocket though they could been spares.
