So a felt somthing was up with my car the past while and wanted to get a wheel alignment done. The car pulls to the left but also feels like its dancing round corners, just not quite as planted as it should be.
Luckily near where I live there is a mechanical genious and porsche/supercar specialist so I took it straight to him thinking it was just an alighment needing done but I wanted it done right.
Thankfully I am anal about the car and went to him, cause somthing more sinister is going on.
Any normal garage would of adjusted the front wheels and sent me on my way.
After driving the car less than 30s this guy goes you need 4 wheels balanced again and your back end is steering your car! I was already impressed haha
So got it on his ramp and had a good look round, checked the rear alignment and checked what the rear should be.
the mk4 R32 specs say the rear toe in for combined both sides allows -0.48 degress I think it was.
My combined toe in was -7degress.
So a long way off.
However the back wheels are perfectly inline with the front which he said he doesnt see that often even on supercars.
And I asked has it been crashed cause there was no history of a crash and no tell tail signs and he said no the car looks pefect from outside and below.
He recons maybe a mechanic has jacked up under the wishbones or somthing simliar or maybe not put a bush in right etc.
My question is has anyone had a similar experiance and if so how was it fixed?
He is going to get the wishbone spec and measure mine to see if it is bent or not althought there is no visable signs of foul play below, looks very clean and tidy infact which I was happy about!
Nice to stand below it and have a hoke about too! lol
