Revo SPS settings

Hey all. I have recently reduced my throttle sensitivity using my SPS box.

Was wondering how safe it is to have a little mess about with the fuel and timing settings.
My car doesn't seem to have a lot of low down torque, you really have to rev it before it feels like it wants to go.

I thought I could maybe advance the timing and up the fuel slightly. Just wondering how safe this is as i dont have vagciom to do any data logging.

Anyone done this?

Hi Mate

I have done extensive work using the SPS switch on my Mk4 R32. Ideally you want to see what effect your changes are having on the car as you could end up running the car at unsafe settings, i.e too lean, or too much timing.

Are you at Revo Stage 1, or Stage 2? Do you use V Power fuel or standard?, what mods has your car got, in particular the cold air intake and exhaust?

Interesting reading James.
I just assumed that more timing and fuel would be best all round.

I am currently stage 1, with custom cat back 2.5" exhaust and k&n typhoon intake system. Always use v power (or Tesco 99, when v power not available)

Car just seems a little flat at lower revs but gets better as you get over 4k ish.

I currently can't remember my settings off the top of my head unfortunately.

Not knowing your original settings is not good. You can find these out if you have an SPS Select switch (newer one) that hooks to a PC. Otherwise your blind, apart from logging the car etc.

From memory and your mods, I suggest no more than 4 on the timing mate, and 5 on fuel. But like I say you need VCDS to log it.

Block 032 VCDS will tell you if you are running lean or rich.
