I'm sure you're all familiar with the Gruppe M Carbon intake for the MKV?

Well, it's an awesome bit of kit but comes with a not so awesome price tag. Fair to say at £650, it's a dear do.

Gruppe M also do a kit for the EP3 Civic Type R with a similarly astronomical price. There is loads of interest for them on the Type R forum and when a second hand one comes up for sale, it's gone in about 2 seconds as no one will buy a brand new one.

A small company in Staffordshire called Tegiwa saw a gap in the market and made their own improved version of the Gruppe M air intake for less than half the price. A batch is made every month and they are gone within days of being up for sale as they are an extremely well made decent intake. I had one on my Type R and loved it. Sounded like the devil and made noticable gains.

I've been looking at induction kits for my R and really want a Gruppe M but am no way going to pay £650 for one!

So I have spoken to Luke at Tegiwa who is happy to produce their version of the Gruppe M for the MKV so long as I can organise a group buy for 25 units. Once this initial interest has been gained he will continue to stock the item. It will cost £300 to £350.

If this all goes ahead, development and production will take 2 months and then we can all be happy owners of the coolest kit ever!

So....who's interested? :five:

Edit: He said he will do this for the MKIV as well but as they are different intakes he'll need another 25 MKIV owners to sign up.

Put me down for one too please.. If its £300ish and gives a noticeable gain and sounds like the devlis love child, its better than spending the money on a map IMO

I too have one on my CTR and it was mint

Think I'll go for Carbon Kevlar. Glad you suggested it mudz-r32
I thought i'd suggest it for the dbp owners. You might want a blue carbon fibre effect (if they can do it), if you look at the link below you'll get an idea the m5 engine covers are in a red carbon fibre.

Still contemplating kevlar carbon or carbon only. Make sure you get dyno results as i had an ek9 before the r and some guys weren't getting the stated gains on the replica mugen or toda manifolds provided by tegiwa. But i've been hearing good stuff on their replica intakes apart from the minor scuttle issues which are also a problem on the ep3/dc5 gruppe M intakes.

I never had a problem with the intake for my ep3 and didn't hear of any from any other EP3 owners.
Never got it dyno'd but was noticably quicker.
Tegiwa's version of Gruppe M's are usually a bit better as they take the Gruppe M box and look where things aren't fitting quite as snug as they should and alter the Tegiwa kit accordingly.

I'll email them to find out what colour choices we have :top:
