Evening,

Following issues with my 4WD I'm looking to send my haldex controller for testing/possible refurb (I have a spare controller too). I've read previous posts stating the guys at autofaultfinder are very good however I have a gen1 controller (autofaultfinder specify they do not repair gen1)

Does anyone have any suggestions of who could test my controller / correct any issues?

Thanks,

Gen 1 haldex system is an asshole to fault find in general as very few sensors on the system. If the rear is locking up it will be because the pressure pin in the haldex controller has broken but there is no sensor to show this and vagcom will not see any error codes. Gen 1 controllers cannot be fixed either so all you can do is swap the controllers over on a working car to test if you think one or both of yours might be bad in that way.

Thanks for your replies. It seems trial and error will be the only way.. seems unlikely to me that the controller is the issue. After a replacement diff and controller all wheels still locked up when tested (couldn't drive the car..). Took my car to stealth earlier this year - Vince seemed to think the controller may be the issue..

A nightmare of an issue that has been going on for some years. Can't wait to find the root cause!!!!

Thanks again.
