I didnt find resonated to be much/any louder than OEM after a flapper mod. Its deeper but you lose the high rev rasp.

 

I just swopped the tips on the mk5 loads cheaper and still sounded stock.

I've heard that a Milly doesn't sound as good as stock. I'm talking resonated.

 

totally agree with this ! Milltek may sound better at full throttle/load but across the full range the OEM system wins imo.

 

I done the flapper mod and have no plans to change exhaust...

I had all three. Resonated sounds deeper, not really much louder. Liked it more than oem. Non-res on a mkv is horrible, drones like mad inside the car, sounds good outside though but I couldnt live with it for more than a few weeks.

 

I've got a blue flame resonated, and in my opinion it sounds great. Much deeper with out being over the top.

 

I wouldn't say much louder, more deeper.Much better.

Just cut the tips off and fit larger ones then. How exhaust sound is a very personal thing so i always advise people to go on youtube and listen for themselves as loads of exhaust videos there.

 

Unless planning big Bhp increase do what I did.

I decided to go resonated on my system after hearing my mate's OEM res delete system...far too loud!

I previously had a resonated milltek which i didn't like so swapped for a custom system which is louder than stock but not by too much.

 

I sale replacement Milltek copied center pipes at £80 for the none res and £120 for the resonated delivered so easy to make the exhaust louder or quieter if you want.
